See You Soon Banquet

Below are some extracts from the See You Soon Banquet
and Presentation. The slide show on the left side of this
page show many more images. See You Soon for me is
the hope and prayers that most of our teens will return to
Sequim and that our relationships will only grow!

Return Home

Today, your teens start their travel back to
the Basque Country. We've all heard such wonderful
descriptions of your beautiful country. We will all
dearly miss our Basque teens.

As of now, the flight and weather are ideal for their
return!

Block Print making

Sandy and Randy Radock created a block
print making class. I missed going to this
one but I see lots of smiles!

Dungeness Creamery and Nash Farms

A few days ago our teens visited organic farms in Sequim.
Nash makes the most delicious healthy vegetables and
raises pigs. Dungeness Creamery makes rich, creamy
raw milk. Yummmmm!

Camp

I have gotten a little behind in my blog posts. Yesterday we had the
"See You Soon" banquet. The event reminded me what a blessing
your teens have been to our community. I keep wondering if
Jane figured out how to send Sequim the very best Basque teens so
we could start with a bang. Thank you again for sharing them
with all our families.

Hiking Hurricane Ridge

Photos say it all, "Were on Top of the World" and loving
it.

Salt Creek Fun Day

We spent the day walking up Hurricane Ridge for great
views. I missed the hike so I don't have any photos of
it. Then everyone met at Salt Creek Park and had a
BBQ, exploring, and some sports.

Teen Back Safely and Lavender Farm

Sunday was the last day of the Lavender Festival. Berta,
Irati, and Ainhoa visited us. It appears everyone had a
good time at camp and was recharging their batteries for more
fun Sequim times. Ainhoa, Irati, Hannah (twice) and
Amelia spent the afternoon with us making jewelry and
watching Bob make enamel glass beads with his torch.

Assorted Posts

The word I am hearing is that all the teens are busy having
lots of new experiences at camp. The weather in Antelope,
Oregon has been sunny and warm with temperatures around
34-36 C (94 - 96 F).

This will be my last Blog entry until Tuesday, July 21.

Note: I also updated the slideshow in the upper left
hand corner of the blog.

Young Eagles Take Flight

Saturday our teens were treated to an airplane and
helicopter flight over Sequim and beyond. What a super
treat by a bunch of really generous men and woman.

Petaque Game and Singing

Saturday night we played Boules or Petanque. Currently
our teenagers are still in camp. We miss them! As long
as we do not hear from them and the counselors I know
that they are doing well.

Barn Dance

We had a western style barn Dance complete with lots
of Basque music and dancing. Everyone seemed to have
a lot of fun.

Teens Arrived Safely at Camp

Our teens arrived safely at camp in Antelope, Oregon. They do not have
access to telephones or internet. I know they are having the time of
their life!

Rock Climbing the Elwha

Today our teens and Annaliese left for Young Life Camp. They will be back
very late on July 18th. For the next few days I will post some
photos from prior days. On July 16th - 21, this blog will not be updated.
We will miss the our Basque and American teens! I know they
will miss us too!
